Three University of Chicago students found themselves the victims of armed robbery within mere minutes of each other near the school's Hyde Park campus.

The first incident unfolded around 2:50 P.M. Wednesday as two students were on South University Avenue, when, according to the Sun-Times, they were approached by four individuals wielding handguns. The suspects demanded belongings and then made their getaway in a black Infiniti sedan.

Shortly thereafter, a third student experienced a similar fright on East 56th Street. This time, two armed individuals performed the heist before fleeing in a black vehicle, as reported by WGN-TV. These back-to-back episodes of gunpoint thievery occurred in broad daylight, sending ripples of concern through the campus community.

Fortunately, no one was hurt during the incidents, police confirmed. However, as of now, no suspects have been apprehended in the armed robberies. In response to the crimes, University of Chicago police said they will "maintain an increased presence” around the campus, aiming to reassure the unsettled student body and staff.
