In a straightforward case of porch piracy, 32-year-old Alexander Strilio of Apple Valley got a surprise delivery of his own—handcuffs—after deputies caught him red-handed with a stolen package from a local's home. The San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department reported that Deputy D. Ciani was dispatched to the 22800 block of Powhatan Road on May 1 following a theft report.

Upon investigation, it was found that Strilio had lifted a package straight off the victim's porch Strilio's luck ran out when Deputy Ciani knocked on his door and found the stolen goods, they were soon returned to their rightful owner. According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department's release, Strilio was booked into the High Desert Detention Center, slapped with a theft charge, and released with a court date.
