D.C. cops are on the hunt for a pair of brazen carjackers who pulled a daylight heist on Pennsylvania Avenue. The Metropolitan Police Department is scouring the Southeast after two thugs reportedly made off with a victim’s vehicle at gunpoint.

The frightening encounter unfolded at 12:43 p.m. on Monday when the armed duo confronted the car owner in the 1200 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast. Brandishing a firearm, one of the suspects demanded the keys and personal belongings, a command the victim hastened to comply with. After the robbery, one assailant took off in the stolen car while the other quickly fled in another vehicle that was awaiting, potentially to act as a getaway car.

According to a statement by the MPD, detectives from the First District are now appealing to the public to help identify the suspects and locate the two vehicles involved in the armed carjacking incident. Authorities have yet to release descriptions of the suspects or the vehicles.
