The streets of Dublin were left shaken after two masked suspects held a 63-year-old postal carrier at gunpoint, robbing her of her mail keys and smartphone in broad daylight on Monday afternoon. According to SFist, the veteran postal worker, who was mere months away from retiring, was assaulted in a disturbing encounter caught on a security camera. One of the robbers brutalized her unexpectedly from behind, pointing a gun to her head while another loomed, demanding the keys and cellphone.

"Somebody came up behind me and ‘boom,’ just hit me ,and put a gun to my head," the postal carrier recounted in an interview that KTVU obtained. Having hoped to cash in on her earned respite in under two years, the victim now confronts the aftershock and trauma, reporting her psychological strife despite being physically unharmed. "He said, 'Give me your keys. You don't want to die, do you?' I go no, no, no. So I reached in, got my keys, and he goes, 'Where's your phone? You got two minutes,'" she told KTVU.

As stated by the US Postal Inspection Service, this latest incident marks the sixth such robbery within a month, ramping up concern in the Bay Area. The postal service is responding with a serious incentive to apprehend the suspects, offering a hefty reward of up to $150,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction. Helping part of the investigation, a neighbor provided surveillance footage, capturing what seems to be the suspects' vehicle, a blue sedan, as per information from SFist.

The postal worker, who served for 33 years, expressed a fierce but shaken determination to "want to" return to her duties and the community she serves. "I love my customers. I love to serve them," she stated, holding her uniform during a KTVU interview. However, being robbed before retiring, her resolve trembles with anxiety and heart palpitations, and she admits to seeking psychiatric help since the incident. Anyone with any information is urged to reach out to Dublin Police Sergeant Chris Haendel at 925-833-6670, offering hope to solve a crime that pierced the tranquility of a Dublin neighborhood.
