A 51-year-old man and his 6-year-old son were victims of a brutal attack by a group of five juvenile males at the Ashmont MBTA station on April 26 around 7 PM, law enforcement officials report. The altercation began after the man asked the teenagers to snuff out their marijuana cigarette. The incident, which disturbed the evening commute, quickly escalated into physical violence, prompting an investigation by the Transit Police Department.

According to a statement posted earlier this week on May 4, Saturday on the official MBTA Transit Police X feed, two of the juvenile males involved in the aggression towards the father and a child were apprehended on May 3, Friday. They are facing charges of Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon (ABDW). The accompanied statement explained that the investigation is ongoing, suggesting that further details and potential arrests could be on the horizon.

Commuters and residents have increasingly voiced their unease, calling for more security and surveillance on MBTA services. The Transit Police Department has not disclosed the identities of the individuals involved, likely due to their juvenile status, but assures the community that justice is being actively pursued. As the case continues to develop, the MBTA Transit Police ask anyone with information pertinent to the case to come forward.
