Early Thursday morning, chaos erupted on Sheridan Street in Hollywood as a bicyclist was struck by a vehicle, sending the victim to the hospital, the Hollywood Police Department reported. The collision occurred just before 6 a.m. near the intersection of Sheridan Street and North 19th Avenue, with emergency responders rushing to the scene following the incident.

According to NBC Miami, a white car with a badly damaged windshield was left at the scene, and grim traces of what appeared to be blood marked the pavement. The bicyclist, whose identity has yet to be released, was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital, as the area became a center of investigative activity by the authorities. As a result of the ongoing investigation, police have rerouted eastbound traffic on Sheridan Street at North 20th Avenue and Federal Highway, forcing drivers to seek alternative paths.
