The NWS Storm Prediction Center in Norman, OK has issued a slight risk of severe thunderstorms for parts of North Florida, South Georgia, and coastal South Carolina. "Isolated to scattered severe thunderstorms appear possible Friday across parts of the Southeast. Damaging winds should be the main threat," the Center reports. A bow/MCS (mesoscale convective system) might be ongoing Friday morning, signaling turbulence for anyone in its path.

Houston's forecast highlights a 70 percent chance of precipitation by Monday, underscoring the probability of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Preceding that, forecasters warn that a potential 40 percent chance of storms could rattle the area before Monday night. Tuesday's outlook is slightly more optimistic, forecasting a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms amidst mostly sunny skies. Houstonians and their Southeastern neighbors alike are advised to stay aware of updates.
