Early this morning, the Massachusetts State Police Air Wing stepped into action to assist in the apprehension of a suspect involved in a domestic assault and battery incident in Plymouth. According to information released on the official Massachusetts State Police News, MSP Air 4, with Sergeant Gregg Spooner and Trooper Joshua Pacheco aboard, took to the skies in search of the suspect, managing to quickly locate him near the Old Colony YMCA on Wareham Road.

Once sighted, the fleeing suspect tried to shake off pursuing units, darting through residential areas. He hopped over gates and traversed backyard fences in a bid to stay out of custody. The aircrew, maintaining visual contact, kept relentlessly guiding Plymouth police officers on the ground toward the unruly suspect's position. Despite his efforts—even pausing briefly to quench his thirst at a resident’s hose—the suspect ultimately couldn't evade the determined eyes in the sky.

The chase reached its conclusion when the suspect, visibly exhausted, finally yielded to the approaching officers. "The flight crew tracked him from above, directing Plymouth officers on the ground to the area," as stated in the MSP News announcement. The aerial directions proved pivotal, cornering the suspect until he had no choice but to surrender.

An official from the Plymouth Police Department acknowledged the crucial role played by the proactive response of the MSP Air 4, which led to the suspect's arrest without further incident. The cooperative effort demonstrated the effectiveness of local and state units working in concert.
