The Oakland Police Department is requesting public assistance in tracking down a person of interest linked to the murder of Damani William, imparting an appeal that channels the very community's spirit of collective responsibility and vigilance.

Officials released a sketch and an image of a white Ford F150 pickup truck, which they believe to be associated with the suspect, as they continue to sift through evidence in a case that has torn at the fabric of Oakland's East 18th Avenue since the violent incident last summer.

The crime in question took place just past midnight on August 30, 2023, when officers found two gunshot victims. While one Oakland resident capitulated to their injuries on the scene, a San Francisco resident was rushed to the hospital and, according to reports, currently remains in stable condition, clinging to the strands of life in our concrete jungle.
