A tragic turn of events struck the Madison South Neighborhood over the weekend when a pedestrian was seriously injured following a collision with a vehicle. The Portland Police reported that the incident occurred on Saturday, May 4, around 2:06 a.m. at the intersection of Northeast Halsey Street and Northeast 92nd Avenue. According to official statements, emergency responders discovered an adult male with life-threatening injuries who was swiftly transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Following the crash, Portland officers arrested 23-year-old Nicole M. Land of Milwaukie, Oregon, after assessing she had been driving under the influence. The Police Traffic Division's Major Crash Team was called to thoroughly investigate the scene. They established that the pedestrian was hit by Land who was driving a 2007 Toyota Sequoia SUV but remained at the scene.
