Savor Sweet Savings, National Teacher Appreciation Week Brings A Bounty of Discounts and Freebies to Educators NationwideSource: Unsplash/ Element5 Digital

Next week, educators across the nation can expect to receive a bit of extra recognition and several perks as businesses kick off deals for National Teacher Appreciation Week. From May 6 to May 10, teachers can grab discounts on everything from fast food to crafting supplies, with even some freebies thrown in to sweeten the deal. According to Northern Virginia Magazine, free beverages, discounted meals, and special offers are all up for grabs to celebrate the ones who nurture future generations.

McDonald's franchisee Ricky Wade is stepping up to offer teachers a solid 30% discount at select locations in Palm Beach and Martin counties. In a statement obtained by WPTV, educators only need to show their school badge between May 6 and May 10 to take advantage of the deal at participating stores. With numerous locations partaking, it's an opportunity for teachers to save a little while enjoying a meal.

Nationwide, McAlister’s Deli is giving away free tea to teachers with valid educator IDs. But it doesn't stop there. Buffalo Wild Wings is also offering to cut 20% off orders for teachers. For the more academically inclined supplies, Staples has teachers covered with free teacher supply kits, which include an assortment of classroom essentials. However, it's noted by Northern Virginia Magazine, there's a limited number of kits per store and not all locations may participate.

Sonic Drive-In is also looking to reward those in the education field with its Teachers’ Circle Rewards Program during the appreciation week. However, teachers will need to be enrolled in the program before May 6 to be eligible. And at Potbelly’s, schools can score catering deals, opting either for 10% off an order of $200 or more, or snag free delivery for feeding the entire staff, according to Northern Virginia Magazine.

Long-term benefits for educators were also spotlighted. Joann offers a continuous 15% off purchases through its Joann Teacher Rewards Digital Discount card, while Michaels matches the discount rate and allows it to be synced to a Rewards account. For tech-savvy educators, Samsung’s special deals on electronics are accessible via the Education Offers Program, and Crocs is footing a 20% online discount for teachers needing comfortable shoes to stand for extensive classroom hours.

Whether they're savoring a free sweet tea or upgrading their laptops, teachers have a bit more to enjoy next week. Palm Beach and Martin county educators can find the nearest participating McDonald’s locations for their discounts by visiting WPTV. For a comprehensive list of nationwide deals, teachers can refer to the guide provided by Northern Virginia Magazine.
