The grand dame of country music, Tanya Tucker, is staking her claim on Nashville's famous Lower Broadway, opening her very own bar which boasts a jaw-dropping $300 cocktail. She named the venture Tanya Tucker's Tequila Cantina, a pop-up establishment on the cozy second floor of Nudie's Honky Tonk. During Thursday’s launch, Tucker rode a stallion down Broadway, skipping traditional ribbon cuttings for a more dramatic entry, as reported by Wide Open Country.

As suggested by WKRN, Tucker's foray into the bar scene is somewhat of a Nashville milestone, as the "Delta Dawn" singer represents one of few female artists to join Lower Broadway's boys' club. Instead of cutting a traditional ribbon during the grand opening, Tucker decided to make an entrance that was as loud as her legacy, by riding the aforementioned stallion, Lauwe—otherwise known as "Cosa Salvaje," the face of her tequila brand—down the bustling street.

According to a Tennessean interview, Tucker is set on increasing the female presence on Broadway. "There's finally more girls on the boys' block! The scene here is turning into a good kind of crazy," she exclaimed. With icons like Garth Brooks and Blake Shelton already illuminating Broadway with their neon-signed bars, Tucker's cantina joins an ever-expanding constellation of celebrity watering holes.

Nashville Historian David Ewing explained to WKRN that the last five to ten years have seen a genuine surge in stars looking to literally put their names in neon on Broadway. With this move, Tucker aligns herself with fellow Country Music Hall of Famer Miranda Lambert, who also owns a hit bar on the strip, hinting at a growing trend of women-led ventures.
