San Antonio was rocked by a deadly shooting that left two men dead in the parking lot of Park North shopping center, authorities said. The San Antonio Police Department responded to the violent incident that transpired yesterday morning.

Officers were called to the Northwest Loop 410 near Blanco around 2 a.m., where they discovered Jonyai Lavaughn Napoleon, 22, and Aaron Montgomery, 28, with fatal gunshot wounds. Despite efforts by police and EMS, both men were pronounced dead at the scene, as KENS 5 reported.

The investigation, still in its infancy, has yielded few details about the suspects. Security personnel at Park North indicated that two individuals were seen fleeing the scene, although the scene was chaotic with many running as officers arrived, as per the police sergeant's statement. No further injuries were associated with the incident, which is now being handled by the homicide unit as a developing story.

A third victim, a 23-year-old woman, was also identified in the preliminary police report. Her vehicle was shot at during the incident, however, she escaped physical harm. Authorities are now treating the case as a capital murder investigation, KSAT informs. The woman's identity has not been disclosed.

The Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office has since verified the identities of the deceased men, and their deaths have been officially ruled a homicide. Local police continue their search for suspects and urge anyone with information to come forward as they piece together the circumstances that led to this tragic event.
