
A car was damaged after it caught fire at a Shell gas station on Lovell Road in West Knox County around 4 p.m. on Monday. Rural Metro Fire crews found the fire in the car's engine compartment and extinguished it quickly, preventing damage to the gas station or nearby vehicles. No injuries were reported, as reported by WVLT.
Rural Metro Fire responded promptly to a vehicle fire. "Crews were able to get the fire extinguished quickly without any damage to the gas station or any other vehicles and no injuries reported," the department stated. WIVK also confirmed there were no injuries or additional damages.
According to the Rural Metro Fire on their Facebook page, a hybrid car sustained major damage after its engine caught fire at a fueling station. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
