A severe fire engulfed a two-story residential building in Southwest Detroit earlier this morning. Flames were first observed at a home located at the 2900 block of Western Street near Dix Avenue around 6:30 a.m., as firefighters were dispatched to tackle the emergency.
According to CBS News Detroit, the Detroit Fire Department was actively on scene to control the fire. Despite the early morning chaos, no injuries were reported at the time of the incident. The fire department spokesman revealed the house appeared to be vacant. While battling the blaze, engulfed in flames, the crews noted that the flames were extinguished around 7 a.m., although smoke continued to billow in the vicinity.
Adding to the details, ClickOnDetroit did not immediately confirm whether there were any injuries as a result of the fire. The sight of smoke was still prominent after the fire had presumably been brought under control. The conditions suggested a challenging scenario for the emergency crews working on site.
