A massive fire enveloped an RV storage facility in the Gila River Indian Community Wednesday night, as reported by FOX 10 Phoenix. The flames were intense near Loop 202 and Kyrene Road, bordering the city of Chandler. Firefighting units responded promptly to the scene, managing to quickly knock down the fire and prevent further spread by dousing the area with water, ensuring to completely extinguish the hot spots.
ABC15 shared that 14 vehicles were affected, including 12 RVs, with video footage capturing a large plume of smoke rising above the facility. In a statement disclosed by the Gila River Police Department, the comprehensive response to the incident involved "Gila River Fire Department and GRIC Public Safety departments, along with Mutual Aid Fire departments," ultimately achieving fire control on the site situated across from Lone Butte Casino.
While Chandler Fire noted the destruction of 10 vehicles, the exact cause behind the blaze remains under investigation, with no immediate information available about the ignition source. Both news outlets confirm that no injuries were reported, and the extent of the damage is still being assessed by the authorities.
Local residents and businesses were on high alert as the fire services worked relentlessly to quickly contain the situation, preventing it from potentially spreading to other nearby structures
