
A tragic incident occurred at the TriPonds Family Camp Resort yesterday, where a 60-year-old man drowned. Officials from the Allegan County Sheriff's Office confirmed the man was found unresponsive in the water by people at the resort, who attempted to provide lifesaving efforts until first responders arrived.
Around 3:18 p.m., the Allegan County Central Dispatch received reports of the drowning, as per WWMT. Rescuers quickly took over aid and transported the victim to Holland Hospital. Despite the prompt response and emergency efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the hospital. The Allegan County Sheriff's Office has not released further details or the identity of the man as the investigation is ongoing.
In the wake of the incident, numerous 911 calls had been made about a man found unresponsive in a lake at the family camp resort. According to a report by WHTC, several bystanders intervened before the first responders’ arrival, pulling the man from the water and commencing first aid.
WZZM 13 also covered the story and mentioned that the incident occurred at approximately 3:20 p.m. on Saturday at the popular camping destination located in Valley Township. The Allegan County Sheriff's Office further indicated that they would continue to investigate to ascertain the sequence of events that led to the man's unfortunate death.
