An overnight fire in Concord's RV park has left one person and several pet dogs dead, with three others injured. According to the QC News, the Concord Fire Department responded to a call at approximately 12:47 a.m. today in the RV park located on Amy Lane Northwest. Upon arrival, firefighters were confronted with one RV engulfed in flames and the blaze spreading to two neighboring units.
Despite efforts to control the fire swiftly, an adult was found deceased inside the primary RV after the fire was quenched. Sad to report that one adult and their pet dogs were found dead, stated the Concord Fire Department in a report shared by WCNC. A second individual from the RV managed to escape before rescue teams arrived and received treatment for minor burns on their hands. Also, two residents from the next RVs faced smoke inhalation treatment at the scene.
Assisting those displaced by the disaster, the American Red Cross is now involved, working in conjunction with emergency services to provide necessary aid. As WSOC-TV notes, a collaborative effort of 42 firefighters from the Concord Fire, Harrisburg Fire, and Charlotte Fire departments were at the scene to battle the fire. The incident summoned a rapid and widespread emergency service response, underlining the severity of the situation.
In the aftermath, the cause of the fire is still unknown and under active investigation. The community awaits answers, as multiple agencies, including Cabarrus County EMS, Concord Police, the State Bureau of Investigation, and the N.C. Office of State Fire Marshal, contribute to the inquiry.
