Traffic on Highway 95 in Loudon County was temporarily halted after a dump truck overturned between Highway 321 South and Big Hill Road. The Loudon County Sheriff’s Office reported that the truck’s load of rocks was scattered across the roadway. Local agencies, including the Greenback Fire Department, Priority Ambulance Service, Tennessee Highway Patrol, and the Tennessee Department of Transportation, responded to manage the incident and clear the roadway.
WVLT reported that the blockage occurred near Unitia Road and shared video footage showing the overturned truck and the scattered rocks that were obstructing traffic. Aauthorities were actively working to clear the roadway, but no estimated time for reopening the road has been provided.
The truck driver sustained minor injuries, according to officials. Emergency crews continue to work on removing the rocks and debris from the roadway to restore traffic flow on Highway 95 and ensure the safety of motorists.
Officials have advised drivers in the area to slow down and use alternative routes while Highway 95 remains closed. Commuters are being urged to plan for delays as crews work to clear the roadway and restore normal traffic flow, according to WBIR.
