Midline Fitness Studio is continuing work on its new space at 784 Stanyan, formerly home to Son Loy Laundry; a new facade and entryway have been revealed, and the business, which will be devoted to circuit training and indoor cycling, will be called "Lavation." It's targeting a "late August or early September" opening, according to Midline owner Jason Kaidasz.

Preliminary Hearing For Suspect In North Beach Attack Case Moved To Aug. 12th

A preliminary hearing for Blake Angus, the suspect in a July 10th attack on a North Beach woman, was rescheduled to 9am August 12th in Department Nine of the Hall of Justice (850 Bryant St.). Angus' attorney filed a motion to have the defendant release or the bail—which was set at $50,000—reduced, and "we'll be objecting to that," said Alex Bastian, spokesperson for the San Francisco District Attorney's office.

As noted by tipster Meghan A., a new piece of unattributed, Banksy-esque street art has appeared on the future Divisadero home of Sightglass CoffeeThe paper cutout depicts a figure wearing a gas mask; yellow embroidery reads, "I GRAZED MY HEAD AGAINST THE EARTH TO LET MY EYES SEE THE NIGHT SKY." We've reached out to Sightglass to learn if the work was sanctioned, but have yet to hear back.
