Hosted by Flowercraft Garden Center, the San Francisco Rose Society will give a free, annual talk on winter pruning techniques, Saturday, January 20. Pruning is an important part of rose culture, primarily providing the plant with better air circulation, enhancing good form and reducing non-essential growth. The demonstration will cover a variety of rose types. The talk begins at 10am and will also cover the topic of winter rose care. The San Francisco Rose Society's "Growing Roses in the San Francisco Bay Area And Other Maritime-Influenced Climates," manual for growing great roses in the San Francisco Bay Area will be available for sale.
