From the organizer

Walk Oakland Bike Oakland and the Oakland Museum of California partner once again to host a bicycling tour of significant Punk music sites through Oakland, Emeryville and Berkeley. The ride is mostly flat through 8.5 miles of urban streets starting at the Oakland Museum of California and ending at 924 Gilman in Berkeley.

The co-leads of the tour are Kamala Parks and Kate Knox.

Kamala Parks and Kate Knox are longtime punk community members who will be leading the ride. Kamala is a co-founder of 924 Gilman Street, a transportation planner for the City of Berkeley, and historical consultant on the upcoming documentary "Turn It Around: The Story of East Bay Punk".

Kate organizes the BOB (Bremen-Oakland-Bath) international music festival in Oakland and is an educator at Holden High School, an alternative school in Orinda.

You'll need your own bicycle, helmets preferred. Youth under the age of 15 must wear helmets.

The tour is free for OMCA and Walk Oakland Bike Oakland members, and a donation of $10 is suggested.
