Philadelphia residents, brace yourselves for a soggy stretch ahead with several rounds of rain forecasted through next week. According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, light rain will persist today with temperatures barely climbing past the low 50s. The dreary conditions are set to carry on into the night, with the chance of precipitation holding at 60%, though the downpour is expected to be light.

In a Coastal Flood Advisory statement released this morning,, residents in the tri-state area were warned of potential flooding, with the advisory effective from 2 AM to 7 AM EDT Saturday. Philadelphia County, along with parts of New Jersey and Pennsylvania, could see up to one foot of inundation above ground level in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.

As we head into Saturday, the skies will clear up a bit, giving way to partly sunny weather and a more comfortable high of 64 degrees. But don't put those umbrellas away just yet. Sunday's outlook promises a 70% likelihood of showers, particularly between the morning and early afternoon hours. While Monday may provide a brief respite with mostly sunny skies and a warm high near 75, the wet weather is set to return with showers likely Tuesday and Wednesday, continuing the pattern of precipitation, according to the detailed weather forecast by the NWS.

The next high tide may be of particular concern for locals. The Delaware River at Philadelphia is expected to see minor flooding at 8.6 feet, around 1.9 feet above Mean Higher High Water, during this morning's tide and again early Saturday. "At this level, flooding begins on the most vulnerable roads along tidal waterways. Some partial or full road closures are possible," warns the National Weather Service.
