Snohomish County Seeks Proposals for New Emergency Bridge Housing Sites in Edmonds, EverettSource: Google Street View

Snohomish County's Human Services Department has put out a call for proposals from organizations ready to take the reins at two new emergency bridge housing sites aimed at assisting those without a roof over their heads. As announced, the sites are located in Edmonds and Everett, with 55 and 75 units respectively.

Looks like it's not just about providing a temporary shelter. The county is looking for agencies that can run a tight ship, keeping these places safe and optimized for the residents’ recovery. Proposals submitted need to pack a punch with details of on-site management and creating a robust support system designed to pitch folks back onto a path of stability and toward long-term housing.

An application workshop is on the schedule for those interested, and the finer points of what's expected can be found on the RFP webpage. It’s not just about setting up shop. Selected organizations will need to show their prowess in fitting into the community vibe and winning over the neighborhood, contributing to a peaceful coexistence.

The deadline to drop applications is June 25, at 4 p.m. The county’s got a budget for this, using funds from the HOME Investment Partnership Program - American Rescue Plan and local resources aimed at making affordable housing a reality for those on the streets. In the end, the goal isn't just to shuffle people out of sight, but to lay down the groundwork for them to stand firm on their own feet again.

According to the county's announcement, it’s all hands on deck for the Human Services Department as they ensure that those engaged in the noble effort meet the high standards set out by Snohomish County – from conducting themselves with the utmost professionalism to following strict referral processes and more.
