Bay Area commuters, brace yourselves for a weekend of delays. BART has announced trackway maintenance work that will disrupt services between Union City and Warm Springs/South Fremont stations on May 11 and 12. As reported by BART, the scheduled upgrades include replacing old equipment and managing vegetation that threatens to impede transit operations.

While the crews work tirelessly to keep the service in top shape, trains will cease to run on the affected segment, with AC Transit stepping in to save the day. Free buses will shuttle passengers between the stations engulfed by the service halt. Delays are expected to be between 20 to 40 minutes, so riders should plan accordingly. Furthermore, the Green Line will not be running this weekend, adding a layer to the intricate planning commuters must navigate.

BART's announcement specifies that the bus bridge will offer direct service between Union City and Warm Springs/South Fremont. A hopper service that includes a stop at Fremont Station will also be in operation. Commuters intent on traveling north from Warm Springs/South Fremont towards Berryessa/North San Jose will have access to a train shuttle service, though departure times will be bumped up ten minutes earlier than usual, and the last two trips of the evening are scratched off the schedule.
