Two Sentenced to Federal Prison for Narcotics Conspiracy Linking Mexico to ChicagoSource: Tulare County Sheriff’s Office

Two Chicago men have been clapped in irons and sentenced to a hard time for their part in a narcotics network stretching from Mexico to Chicago streets. As reported by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Illinois, Sheldon Morales, and Eduardo Santana got entangled in a conspiracy to shuffle illegal drugs through postal parcels from the states of California and Arizona, eventually to be hawked on Chicago's doorsteps in 2019.

According to the FBI, this duo guaranteed to keep the illegal treats flowing, aligning themselves with a Mexican supplier and a pair of jailbirds locked up in Texas. Law enforcement discovered the drug trafficking operations via wiretapped mobile phones, confiscation of packages, and thorough surveillance. This case was a component of an investigation conducted by Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces.

U.S. District Judge Mary M. Rowland sent Santana, aged 47 of Skokie, behind bars for 16 years and eight months. Morales, 42 of Morton Grove, received a 19-year and seven-month sentence. These sentences add to the tally as two other defendants were also convicted and sentenced to prison for their doings in the drug trade, linked to narcotics or illegal firearms.
