A late night blaze tore through an apartment complex's laundry room in Greater Inwood, causing firefighters to spring into action to douse the flames before dawn yesterday.

The fire broke out at a building located at 6200 W. Tidwell Rd., according to a report, crews were dispatched to the scene at approximately 12:05 a.m., where firefighters from multiple stations battled to keep the fire from spreading beyond the laundry facility, a containment effort that successfully averted a larger disaster though the damage assessment has yet to be determined, no injuries have been reported from the incident.

Authorities deemed the cause of the fire as "unintentional", hinting at an accidental origin of the blaze—details on how the fire started were not immediately available. The reports indicated that CenterPoint Energy was contacted to secure the utilities in the building's premises as part of the standard safety protocol.

According to official statements, the operation saw a response from 34 personnel, with assistance coming from Stations 4, 2, 5, 13, 50, 66, 67, 62 and 30, these firefighting teams collaborated to execute a primary search of the building as they extinguished the fire, ensuring residents' safety.
