Hit-and-Run Suspect Roman Shoffner Arrested After Chase, Booked Into Harris County JailSource: Facebook/Mark Herman, Harris County Constable Precinct 4

Chaos ensued on the streets when a hit-and-run driver struck a vehicle and decided to quickly take off, igniting a police search that ended in his capture. According to a Facebook post by Constable Mark Herman's office, deputies rushed to the scene of the crime on Lyons School Road where the complainant described being rear-ended on April 28. The driver who caused the accident, later identified as Roman Shoffner, abandoned his vehicle and attempted to flee on foot, but wasn't able to escape the long arm of the law for long.

Deputies managed to not just track down but to also detain Shoffner in proximity to the crash site, despite his attempts to disappear amongst the locals. After an investigation, he was whisked away to a hospital to treat injuries sustained in the collision. Not too soon after, on April 30, authorities carried out a search warrant at a residence on Willow Pine Drive and apprehended him without incident.

Shoffner now faces repercussions for his actions, and he's learning the cost of his failed escape. "Roman Shoffner was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail for Fail to Stop and Give Information. His bond was set at $2,500.00 out of County Court 9," stated Constable Mark Herman in the official statement.
