The Metropolitan Police Department is calling on locals to help nab a burglar who struck a business on 14th Street, Northwest. The crime occurred on Monday when an unidentified person reportedly slipped in through the establishment's backdoor.

According to the MPD's announcement, the suspect made their move at around 11:07 a.m., April 29, on the 1800 block of the area. The burglar managed to pilfer an employee's belongings, before making a quick escape, the establishment, which has not been named had its sense of security shattered by the audacious daytime heist.

Third District detectives have taken the lead on the investigation, currently sieving through what little evidence there is in an appeal for justice and community vigilance. The police have not yet released specific details about the stolen property or the potential value of the items.

No injuries were reported in the incident, and the police have refrained from making any speculations about the suspect's identity or motive. However, they hold firm on their plea for public assistance; any individual with information about the burglary or the suspect is urged to step forward.
