A man from Pearson, Georgia, is behind bars following his arrest over a fatal shooting in Atkinson County. Pablo Miranda, a 32-year-old resident, has been slammed with charges including malice murder, felony murder, and aggravated assault after the death of Johan Romero, 27, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation announced.

The grim discovery was made last Tuesday, when a 911 call led deputies to a man found slumped and unresponsive in a car, riddled with gunshot wounds. The vehicle was parked on the rural Wright Road in Axson, landing the heavy case on the local sheriff’s office’s doorstep. After calling in the GBI for backup, the investigation quickly zeroed in on Miranda.

According to the GBI, evidence gathered from the crime scene, accompanied by details coughed up during interviews, stitched together a narrative that led to Miranda's capture. His residence on Bullard Avenue was also a major scene during the ordeal, as law enforcement executed a search warrant there, shining a light on the suspect's probable involvement. He's now cooling his heels at Atkinson County Jail.

Assisting in Miranda’s arrest was a joint effort, featuring manpower from the Atkinson County Sheriff’s Office, the Willacoochee Police Department, and the Pearson Police Department.
