Easter Egg Hunt at Kezar Gardens, April 1 Looking for some early Easter festivities for the family? This Sunday from 11 to 3 you can get a head start on Easter with the Easter egg hunt in Kezar Gardens, at 780 Frederick. There'll be face painting, an Easter bunny, and, of course, some eggs. Go crazy. Upper Haight Farmer's Market opens for the season Finally, this Wednesday from 3 to 7 p.m., the Upper Haight Farmer's Market kicks off its new season at the corner of Stanyan and Waller, just inside Golden Gate Park. The market will run every Wednesday from April 4th to the end of October. Anarchist Book Fair, March 31 and April 1 The annual Anarchist Book Fair, put on by Haight Street's own Bound Together Books, is being held at the SF County Fair Building in Golden Gate Park this Saturday and Sunday. Check it out for books, zines, pamphlets, and more from political publishers, booksellers and readers. Check it out here. Human Rights Film Festival, March 29-31 The USF Presentation Theater up the (very tall) hill will be playing 13 films addressing human rights violations across the globe.Free. Soul Rebels live at Amoeba, Sunday 4/1 The 8-piece New Orleans funk troupe performs at noon. Amoeba's website describes Soul Rebels thusly: "They bring fresh elements to the mix - hip-hop, go-go, and reggae beats - along with some unexpected song selections, all layered on top of a hundred years of street-wise jazz tradition." Yes, please. Poetry Night at the Booksmith 4/2, 7:30 In case you forgot that April is national poetry month, the folks at the Booksmith remembered for you. On Monday 4/2 at 7:30, bring your favorite short-ish poem (by someone else), and be prepared to share with the group. Pireeni Sundarlingam hosts. Free.
