It's Lower Haight Art Walk eve! Can you feel it? Even though the big night is still 24 hours away, here's a couple of fun events tonight to get your pre-party started.

First, Merch hosts an opening reception for a show of works from local artist Jillian West. Dubbed "Never As it Seems," the show features more than 80 pieces including vintage photo and illustration collages. The works will be on display through the summer, but tonight's opening will involve champagne and snacks, so don't miss it. That's 6:30 to 8pm at Merch (629 Haight). Meanwhile, if you're over in the Upper Haight, swing by Trax (1437 Haight) and check out the launch party for our Upper Haight blog, Uppercasing! Mingle with fellow Upper Haighters, meet editors Camden and Amy, and enjoy some discounted drinks and snacks. There'll be free pizza and cannoli from Club Deluxe (while supplies last), and free drinks for the first 20 folks in the door. That's 6pm to 10pm at Trax - spread the word!
