A Tuesday Mélange: Arts & Music
It's only Tuesday, but there's already a lot going on this week, and we're feeling musical. Here's a snapshot.

First, thanks to Luigino for another great photo! Cheers. THURSDAY, 8PM, Stanza is having an art opening. We told you a while ago that the coffee and wine bar at 1673 was going to be having local artist shows and using the walls as gallery space--well here it is. FRIDAY, 9PM, at Great American Music Hall, Woods and Peaking Lights will be co-headlining for $16. If you're a fan of swirly, sunshiny, breezy psych-rock guitar dreamscapes, do yourself a favor and go check them out. We saw Woods last year at Hardly Strictly and they were stellar. Also in the music vein, THURSDAY, 8PM at the Regency Ballroom is the Squarepusher show. He did a quick set in town last fall and his new material doesn't disappoint. It's going to be bright! and loud! Also also, we found out this weekend that the ever-lovely Beth Orton will be swirling into town this fall on tour for her new album, Sugaring Season. You can preorder tickets for that (!) right over here. She's a riot in person. In another vein, our local, lovely Audra Dance, the excellent proprietress of Loved to Death, is on the cover of the current volume of Bold Italic's paper publication (volume 4), which you can pick up at Loved to Death, the Booksmith, or any other of the many cool newsy outlets in your necks of the woods.
