Walking by the location currently under renovation for the previously reported new Pesce Seafood Bar restaurant (in the old Jake's on Market space at 2223 Market Street), I noticed some of the plastic was off the windows revealing views of the newly remodeled interior, folks sitting at tables set to candlelight, and what appeared to be servers bustling around. On closer inspection, a sign was posted in the window that indicated the restaurant staff was in training and the restaurant was not yet open. I took the opportunity to snap a few photos of the interior for everyone's viewing pleasure.

The newly remodeled space that will be hosting the relocated restaurant (formerly on Polk) features a clean modern design with wood floors, dark wood accents, white walls, and metal and black chairs and tables. The bar is deeper and lower and the track and can lighting is low and thoughtful. The new look is definitely more refined than the diner feel of Jake's on Market. Construction workers have been coming in and out more recently this past week, likely putting on the finishing touches to the exterior and interior. We expect to see them open within the next couple of weeks if not sooner. We'll keep you informed!
