Hit And Run At Van Ness And Grove
A pedestrian was seriously injured in a hit-and-run while crossing Van Ness early this morning.

According to police, the pedestrian, described as an adult male in his 50's, was walking westbound across Van Ness around 2:23am this morning. He was in the crosswalk at Grove Street when he was struck by an SUV traveling southbound. The victim was taken to SFGH with what are described as life-threatening injuries. The driver fled the scene and is being sought by police at this time; no other description of the suspect's vehicle has been provided. This is roughly the same location as a fatal collision roughly a month ago. In that crash, a man ran across Van Ness following an argument with another person, and was struck by a driver in the last lane of traffic. The driver, who was not considered at fault, cooperated with police. We'll update this story if we learn any additional details.
