Upper Playground Turns 15Facebook/Upper Playground
Upper Playground, the art and apparel shop at 220 Fillmore Street, is celebrating 15 years in business this weekend.

Upper Playground actually began as a record store on Fillmore in 1999. Over the years, it began selling streetwear and accessories, spun off the Fifty24SF gallery next door, boosted the careers of countless local artists, and opened shops in Berkeley, Portland, and Mexico City. To celebrate the milestone, the shop is having an anniversary sale, offering 50% off its merchandise. The sale is available today in its 3 U.S. stores, and tomorrow and Sunday online via its website. Congrats to Upper Playground for 15 years in business as the epicenter of the Lower Haight's street art scene.
