In Bed Closing Up Shop, Moving To SoMa

By Rose Garrett - Published on May 19, 2014.
Bedding boutique In Bed has announced that they will close up shop on May 25th, less than two years after the store first claimed the corner of Hayes and Laguna. First opened in September 2012, the spot is a concept spinoff from home furnishings store H.D. Buttercup in SoMa.
Now, In Bed has decided to relocate closer to its parent store. Manager Carly Young told us that their lease was up, and they opted to make the move instead of renewing at their current location. They'll be moving to 290 Townsend Street, the address shared by H.D. Buttercup.
"I love Hayes Valley personally," Young said. "It's a very tight-knit community and I'm sad that we're one of the ones leaving."
Though she didn't mention specifics, Young did say that there's a new tenant on the way, but they'll be doing earthquake retrofitting in the space first. That means that it could be a few months before we know who the new addition to the neighborhood might be.
In the meantime, stop by In Bed to take advantage of their 40% off moving sale and to say goodbye before the 25th rolls around.
