The boutique beat goes on in Hayes Valley this week, with both new shop gather and newly relocated shop Reliquary opening their doors.
Reliquary, which carries curated apparel and accessories, closed up shop on Octavia last month  and moved around the corner to 544 Hayes in search of more foot traffic and a bigger space. Owner Leah Bershad debuted the bigger and better shop this Saturday.

Meanwhile, there's a newcomer on the Octavia stretch. Last month we brought word that new shop gather was coming to the neighborhood, courtesy of husband-and-wife team Daisy and Christian McClellan. The pair have recently opened their doors after a redesign of the former Rag space (541 Octavia) that included new floors, new interior paint and more. From their blog:

"We wanted to give the store a warm vibe that people felt welcomed in. Most of our tables and shelves were found at the Alameda Flea Market, Rose Bowl Flea, or from The Wooden Duck. And handy Christian made our copper racks! We're lucky it's such a big space that we have room to grow and throw special events and workshops."

If you'll recall, the shop aims to offer an array of men's and women's clothing, jewelry, and home-ware accessories with a focus on locally-made products. They also plan to hold workshops that connect artists with locals interested in learning new skills (think sewing, making a terrarium or  creating your own bath products).

Both stores are open now, so stop on in, say hello and check out what's new.
