If you were wondering what all the camera crews were doing yesterday in the Castro, we've got the skinny. The Wachowski's (best known for the Matrix franchise) were filming a new Netflix sci-fi series named "Sense8" which is story about 8 empathic characters from around the globe who are being hunted down by some sort of entity. One of those characters lives in San Francisco. From IMDB: "A group of people around the world are suddenly linked mentally, and must find a way to survive being hunted by those who see them as a threat to the world's order." Film crews were in the Castro yesterday to film B-roll for scenes that feature the Castro and a car chase scene that led down Market Street onto Castro Street. Crews will also be filming this Saturday, but farther down on 18th Street between Guerrero and Valencia. The series is expected to debut on Netflix sometime in 2015.
