Remember that spot at 1649 Haight, the corner of Belvedere? That's where So Good Jewelry moved into half its former space, and a lease option went up to the public.

We noticed some action behind the locked-down security grill, and it looks like renovations are underway, so we did a little investigating. 

It turns out that Tibetan Gift Corner, currently at Haight and Clayton, will be setting up shop across the street. We spoke with someone working behind the counter at Tibetan Gift Corner yesterday afternoon, who verified the rumor. He said the shop won't be moving, but expanding: the new spot will be a second location for the store.

He also said the exact move-in date was undetermined, because it's unclear how fast the construction will be finished.
