A man was fatally shot early this morning near the intersection of Henry and Noe streets in Duboce Triangle.
According to reports by ABC and CBS, a resident reported hearing gunshots and someone asking for help sometime around 12:30am this morning. Police responded to the scene and found a male victim lying in the street, apparently following a confrontation with a group of people.
There are conflicting reports about the victim's condition; one reporter says he died at the hospital, while other news outlets report that he was found dead by police.

No other information has been released so far about the victim, suspects, or a possible motive. We'll update this story with additional details as we get them.
Update, 10:45am: The Chronicle reports that the 21-year-old victim was walking in the area with two other men when he was robbed and shot by a group of five male suspects:
One of the attackers pulled out a handgun and pointed it at the group before shooting the victim in the torso, police said. The assailants then fled in a dark-colored sedan, making off with a smartphone, wallet and a backpack, police said.
The victim, who has not yet been identified, died an hour after arriving at San Francisco General Hospital. No arrests have yet been made.
Update, 9:45pm: The Bay Area Reporter and ABC are reporting that the victim is Michael Marquez, and that the search continues for the five suspects.
