Gay Speed Dating Event In The Castro This SaturdayPhoto: Guest of a Guest/SF Gay Speed Dating
Are you looking for a serious date? Open to really getting to know someone? Tired of validating man-boys on dating apps? Maybe speed dating is for you.
On Saturday afternoon from 4pm-6pm, the San Francisco Gay Speed Dating organizers are hosting their third gay speed dating event at the Mix at 4086 18th St. (previous locations have included The Cafe and Lookout). All proceeds collected from event registration go to the San Francisco AIDS Foundation.

Each speed dating event is geared towards different age brackets (with some wiggle room) and Saturday's speed dating event is focused on people 20 to 40 years of age.

To get in on the action, you'll first need to register for the event. On the day of the event, you'll meet up with up to 19 single guys for six minutes each and share a little bit about yourself. There will be breaks in between each conversation to assess your match, and a 10 minute break at halftime. Each participant will be given a worksheet to take notes on who they liked—either for a potential date, or just to stay in contact with as friends.

After the event, you'll take your worksheet, head home, and go to the event's website, where you can log in and input your matches. 72 hours after the event, if you've got a match, you'll see their email address visible on the site.

There you have it: if you're looking for an alternative to the world of apps and want to find local guys who are looking to date, this could be the event for you—money collected goes to a good cause and all you've got to do is put yourself out there.
