At approximately 10pm tonight, a shooting occurred in the area of Page Street and Laguna. According to Officer Albie Esparza of the SFPD, four victims died on the scene.

The victims are all described as male adults. The SFPD's homicide unit is investigating, and a helicopter can be heard hovering above the scene of the incident. Page Street between Buchanan and Octavia is blocked off by tape and squad cars.

No suspects are in custody.

Update, 11:52pm: The Chronicle reports that one of the first officers responding to the scene reported via police radio that the four victims were found in a car.

The SFPD has described a newer-model Scion as a possible suspect vehicle, saying that the car could be heading toward Highway 101. California Highway Patrol officers were alerted.

Update, 1/10, 8:40am: The SFPD has a few more details on the shooting last night. "The four homicide victims were located doubled parked on the street inside a stolen vehicle," the SFPD stated this morning. The victims' car has been identified as a black 2005 Honda. Although a vehicle was seen speeding away from the scene of the shooting, police are still trying to verify the car's make and model and confirm if it is related to the homicides. So far, there is no suspect description.

Update, 1/10, 12pm:
The Chronicle reports that the police gang task force has been deployed, and that the violence is thought to be gang-related. According to Police Chief Greg Suhr, the gang task force and homicide units have teamed up to share information and counter the possibility of gang retaliation.

Police believe that four guns were likely involved and that upwards of 15 shots were fired. Two guns were found inside the stolen Honda with the victims, and two different caliber shell casings were recovered at the scene. KGO has reported that some bullets from the shooting penetrated inside homes in the area, including one bullet that hit a refrigerator.

Police have identified the four victims, but have not yet released their information to the public.

Update, 1/12, 9:30am: the SF Medical Examiner's office has released the identities of the four victims. They were Yalani Chinyamurindi, 19, of San Francisco; Harith Atchan, 21, of San Francisco; David Saucier, 20, of Antioch; and Manuel O’Neal, 22, no permanent city of residence.

A prayer vigil and march have been planned for tonight at 6pm, beginning at the African American Arts & Culture Center at 762 Fulton St.

We'll update this post as more information becomes available.
