Souvla To Bring Meaty Greek Menu To Former Herbivore On DivisPhoto: Jared Schwartz/Hoodline

The Divisadero corridor continues to evolve by leaps and bounds, with today's news that Hayes Valley darling Souvla is bringing its much-lauded Greek fare to the former Herbivore space at 531 Divis.

Herbivore closed in October, and its successor will be decidedly more meat-centric, with the menu featuring the same pork, lamb, and spit-roasted chicken wraps and salads as the Hayes Street original, which opened in April 2014. The popular frozen Greek yogurt will also be in the mix.

Among many accolades, Souvla’s gyro was named the number one food trend of 2015 by Bon Appetit. The new addition will only add to Divisadero's growing foodie factor, with Namu Stonepot, Tsk/Tsk followup Horsefeather, Indian Paradox, Ijji, JulietteSightglass Coffee, arcade bar Emporium and Che Fico all on the way.

As a press release from Souvla notes, Souvla #2 will open in mid-2016, so you can expect the buildout to kick off early next year.
