VeganBurg, the Singapore-based vegan fast food chain, will open its doors at 1466 Haight St. this Saturday, December 12th. The new location will be its first in the U.S.

Representative Alex Tan said that contractor difficulties delayed the opening, originally scheduled for earlier this summer, and then the fall, and then delayed again.

The storefront, formerly All You Knead, shuttered suddenly almost three years ago, and has remained closed since. At various points in the meantime, it has been up for lease, under plans for renovation with a pan-Asian menu, and home to squatters who had moved in couches and other furniture. VeganBurg announced it would be moving in back in January

VeganBurg, which was founded in 2010, offers a panoply of meat-free burgers, as well as vegan versions of their typical accoutrements.

According to the announcement of VeganBurg's opening, the company chose the Haight for its associations with "the iconic '60s revolution of love, peace, equality, and freedom" as well as "the sustainability of our planet."

VeganBurg's hours of operation are Sunday, 10am-9pm; Monday-Thursday, 11am-9pm; and Friday-Saturday, 10am-10pm. A grand opening will follow in the new year.
