Uma Casa is the brainchild of former Tacolicious head chef Telmo Faria, who is in the process of opening his own restaurant at 1550 Church St. As part of the preparations, he'll be experimenting with a few dishes at Maven over the next three Mondays. The dishes reflect traditional Portuguese cuisine, but are also inspired by Northern California's commitment to seasonality and sustainability.
Bartender Nora Furst (previously of Lolinda, Delarosa and Belga) has been brought on as Uma Casa's bar director. For this pop-up, she'll collaborate with Maven's bar director Tim Hagney to create a specially paired cocktail.
The Uma Casa pop-ups will take place on April 18th, April 25th, and May 2nd from 5:30-11:30pm at 598 Haight St.
