Huge Crowds Expected For Fisherman's Wharf Pokémon Go CrawlPhotos: Courtesy of Fisherman's Wharf CBD

The smartphone sensation that's sweeping the nation shows no signs of abating: hot on the heels of last week's big (but unofficial) citywide Pokémon Go crawl, Fisherman's Wharf is stepping up to host another crawl within the neighborhood tomorrow night. The neighborhood's 70 PokéStops will all have active lures from 6-9pm, giving Pokémon enthusiasts the chance to snag an array of digital captives.

According to the Fisherman's Wharf CBD, which is helping to organize the event, more than 1,200 people have already RSVPed to the crawl on Eventbrite, and they expect around 1,000 attendees. More than 40 local businesses have pitched in to be part of the action with special deals. Here are a few of the highlights:

  • Gold Dust Lounge (165 Jefferson St.) will have $5 Irish coffees, Bloody Marys, and key lime margaritas during the event, and starting at 9pm, an afterparty will feature free Pokémon Jello shots and a giveaway raffle.
  • Brick & Beam (555 North Point Rd.) is offering 20% off all checks, with special Pokémon-themed drinks.
  • Ben & Jerry's (Pier 41 or 475 Jefferson St.) is offering buy one, get one free cups, cones, shakes, smoothies, and sundaes.
  • Jack in the Box (2739 Taylor St.) is giving away free tacos.
  • Madame Tussaud's/The San Francisco Dungeon (145 Jefferson St.) is offering half off admission.
  • Bay City Bike Rentals (2661 Taylor St.) is offering buy one hour, get one hour free on bike rentals, to allow players to more easily navigate the neighborhood.
  • Electric Tour Company Segway Tours (757 Beach St.) is offering a Poké-centric Segway ride, with $15 off admission if you show your RSVP to the event. (They promise riders will be able to effortlessly hatch a 10K egg.)

In addition to the business promotions, the Fisherman's Wharf CBD is giving away a $1,300 prize package to the best screenshot of a Pokémon character taken during the event. Use the hashtag #WharfPokeNight on social media to enter.

The event organizers suggest starting at either Pier 39 or Ghirardelli Square, and walking along Jefferson Street and through Aquatic Park. Good luck catching 'em all!
