There may soon be more Zazie on Cole Street. Jennifer Piallat, the owner of the popular restaurant, is looking to open a new cafe across the street at 930 Cole St., a former auto garage that closed in May 2015.
At the new location, Piallat hopes to serve a limited menu of favorite dishes from Zazie, though it's unclear if there will be seating or only a to-go menu. (Piallat says it won't serve beer or wine.) However, for the new location to open, the Planning Commission must agree to rezone the proposed space from retail to restaurant use.
At 9,460 square feet, 930 Cole is being renovated to host three new tenants. One has already been announced: GoHealth Urgent Care plans to take a 2,500-square-foot space if its application to Planning is approved.
According to a third permit application, Urban Sol Yoga is aiming to take the remaining spot. The studio appears to be new, as we weren't able to find additional details about it or its owner(s).
"Planning gods willing," Piallat said she hopes to see "yogis getting gingerbread pancakes for a treat after class" in the near future.
[Update: In light of the fact that Luke's Local will soon move into the space occupied by Alpha Market, Piallat has decided against expanding into 930 Cole.]
