As you may have seen, this past week was a notable one for homicides in the city, with six people losing their lives from Thursday to Sunday. One of those deaths occurred on Sunday, October 2nd, on the 2600 block of California Street (between Pierce and Scott) in Lower Pacific Heights, when a 63-year-old woman was stabbed around 4:45pm. She was transported to the hospital, where she died of her injuries.

A suspect was arrested in the case, and the SFPD has now released more details about him: he is 59-year-old San Francisco resident Eugene Bell (pictured above.

The investigation remains ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact the SFPD Homicide Detail at (415) 553-1145, the anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444, or text a tip to TIP411 and begin the text with 'SFPD' at the start of the message.
