Is your New Years resolution to prove your gardening skills? Then you're in luck. Hayes Valley has a new community garden.

The new garden is located at the Alchemy by Alta apartment complex on Haight and Laguna. The announcement comes after pricing for the new apartments was revealed this January, and 50 below-market-rate units became available in July.

The new community garden will offer 56 plots, four feet by four feet each. And portions of the garden will be wheelchair-accessible.

The plots will be doled out by lottery, and, as the Examiner reports, residents can apply for one per household.

To get on the lottery list, send your full name, phone number, email address and zip code to [email protected] by January 15th, 2017. The lottery is expected to take place on February 1st. Update, 1/3: According to Alchemy by Alta, the deadline has been extended to January 30th, and the lottery is now expected to take place February 15th.

Existing community gardens in San Francisco traditionally have long wait lists with sometimes more than a hundred people waiting to score a spot. With this garden's central location, a long waiting list for those who don't make the original cut is likely.
